J's Wok & Grill

                              https://www.facebook.com/pages/Js-Wok-Grill/138768471502

Few days ago, we found this on facebook and decided to try it out.
J's Wok & Grill
It is a neighbourhood restaurant and what's so special about it is that it is halal! But not so accessible.

They have a full list of menu on their facebook page! They serve Western and Asian food.
They also have a function room and does catering.

So how is it? Let's find out!

J's Wok & Grill is a Oriental & Western Cuisine Restaurant.
The place is located at a really remote area of Bedok. But there's still bus going around that area.

We went around noon time, so the place was quiet. No waiting is needed. We were greeted by the staff and their politeness and smile made us feel welcomed.

What We Ate!!!

Prawn Salad $ 7.5
This dish was our appetizer apart from the soup.
When the dish came, i thought it was well presented and looked appealing. The prawns were fresh and crunchy and the greens and fruits were also fresh and juicy! It was mixed with mayonnaise and salad dressing. It was a norm for a prawn salad. Nothing special.

Set Meal Additional $3 for a Soup of the day & A choice of drink

The soup of the day was cream of asparagus.

JingKai : Not that bad for me
I am not really keen of having a vegetable as a choice of creamy soup. But this soup is quite yummy. I empty it before Dickson even started!

Dickson: Just another creamy soup for me. Didn't really tasted the asparagus. But the bread crumbs were a plus!

J's cordon bleu $ 11.90

This is a very similar dish which I had in Secret Recipe.

Is a breaded Chicken with cheese in it. It is very plain.
The ideas is plain, the presentation was plain EVEN the taste is plain! Quite disappointed I would say.

But one thing is the tenderness of the chicken is great.  Is not dry and you can really enjoy the pure taste of the chicken.
Well done on that part I will said.

They serve it with fries and coleslaw and 2 dipping sauces, one
is Sweet Chilli and the other one is mushroom sauce. And thank god I can finish it as the serving is quite huge.

I will not recommend this dish as there really nothing much about it. I will prefer they have some Saltiness taste in the breaded chicken.

Sizzling Sirloin Steak $ 10.90

Sizzle!!!! The waiter actually poured the black pepper sauce onto the steak infront of our table before it was placed on our table. You can literally hear the sizzle sound! A minus point on that was the sauce actually were sizzling out of the pan! Luckily it didnt stained my shirt on that part.

About the food now. The steak came with potatoes, carrots, corn and fresh green vegetables. I ordered medium for the steak. It was quite good for me as the steak were very juicy! Every bite of the steak, you can taste the tenderness and juiciness of the steak. The black pepper sauce also further complimented the steak. The black pepper sauce were not very salty or spicy unlike some other restaurants served. The saltiness and spicyness were just right. Really nothing much to complain!

Look at the price! What else can you ask for!

The Service
The waiter is polite and the place was clean. Our table is abit warm and they actually on the fan for us! We were quite surprised on that part.

Overall I think the place is a great addition to the neighbourhood.
A place where you can bring a book to read and enjoy a nice afternoon meal. Plus, the price is really affordable

There is also a function room with sound system. Not sure about the price but you will be able to book it if you have a party.

They always have new dishes rolling out so go on and check them out IF you are nearby.
