Hello everyone, welcome to our first post.Our friend asked us to join him for dinner and he recommended us this restaurant and we are happy to join him and hunt for our first review.
The place is quiet, and there are window seats. If you go on a weekday, it is usually quiet and spacious. And there is a lot of sport program going on. There's also a bar where you can chill and hang out with your pal after work.
Great place, good ambiance.
So What We Had?
Root Beer $5.5
FREE FLOW!! What more can you ask for?!Potatoes Skins $12
The sour cream was smooth which compliments the crispy potatoes skin accompanied by cheese and bacon bits. However, the bacon bits were too little to be mentioned. The sour cream were very smooth and it wasn't very sour. It makes the potatoes skin less oily and very appetizing. Overall it is a good starter to begin with.
Soup Onion $7
Onions Crouton and cheese on it. The presentation were very nice. Its simple, however, tasted salty for me. A dash of pepper should have done the job which i forgotten to do so. There's alot of stuff in it! I won't say it is value for money but definitely not a bad dish. Should give it a try if you want something different.Soup Clam Chowder $6
SLURRRP!! The 1st spoonful of clam chowder tasted like heaven! Definitely not those early morning when the chef starts to boil hot water and pour tons of instance powder! The creamy and rich clam chowder soup accompanied by bite size clams and potatoes just melts in your mouth like a chocloate fondue! One word. Fantastic!
Fish N Chips tasted norm. Believed it can be done better. Sauce that came together was Cajun Mayo sauce. Fish were fresh but nothing special. Fries were good to compliment with the sauce. Coleslaw tasted good too!
BBQ 1/2 Slab Ribs (Pork) $28
Is it Expensive?? Yes! I'm Used to getting Good Food That does not cost More then 10 Buck. Yes I admit i'm a cheapo.
The ribs were great. 6 ribs. The size seems to be slightly shorter than other restaurants but it is thick! Every mouth you bite is so chunky and you can taste the honey marinated all over. It's simply Delicious! The sauce is a little too sour for me but i love dipping my crispy fries into it and boy i can hear the crunchy fries in my mouth breaking to bits and it so good with the bbq sauces. The Coleslaw wasn't too sweet and it has a light taste compare to the heavier taste rib and fries , it is delightful addition to the oily food you just have. Less sins=) Every single rib is ripped clean. Yummy! and you get to lick your finger clean too. Feel free to used your hand to eat. They serve you wet tissues at the start too. Enjoy To the Max!
The waiter was young, but knowledgeable and they were very polite. The order of the course come according in this order; Starter, Appetizer, Main Course followed by bills with complimentary mentos. The starter came followed by appetizer which came 1-2 min later. THE MAIN COURSE CAME was served all at a time! I was touch when they serve the food together. Of cause this is during none busy period.
This is truly a fine Dinning Restaurant. By the way, the Ice water is free. You can refill our drink anytime you want. The whole experience is a pleasant one. We are glad that we picked Dan Ryan's Chicago Grills as our first Post. A good start and many more to come.
